Notebooking has added a satisfying touch to schooling for me. I tried Lapbooking, which has the same purpose but is a bit more involved. With Notebooking we have a theme page that has lines for writing, a printed picture and an empty spot for the kids to do their own drawing. Basically they have a paper they can fill with their own thoughts and creativity. The beauty of it is, the kids create their own masterpeice about what they have learned and you as a mom can be satisfied that they are learning what they need to. Taking information and thinking it through and writing it on paper causes them to think about what they are learning. Plus you are documenting what they are learning. I buy them each a binder and sheet protectors, You can use notebooking pages for pretty much every subject you cover. The only subjects I DON"T use them for is Math and Language Arts. Even though I am pretty sure you could use them for even those. Here is link to the Lifetime mem
